Dallas, Texas is typically known for the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas State Fair, but this popular travel destination has a booming beauty scene that is only getting larger each year.
Popular beauty brands that got their start in Dallas include Mary Kay, Sally Beauty, and Cetaphil, just to name a few. Almost every year a new brand pops up and takes off with great success. The big brands are able to bring in millions and even billions of dollars in revenue each year.
If beauty brands are so prominent in the area, that means there are salons and beauty schools that are putting them to use. The large population of Dallas and the number of tourists who visit each year allow many beauty schools to thrive. 27 million tourists come to Dallas each year and spend over $5 billion. It’s no doubt that a portion of that money goes to salons for special events, which means there will be plenty of job opportunities for cosmetology school graduates.
The Dallas metroplex has several schools to choose from, and many of them offer financial aid or will help students find resources to get scholarships and grants. The cosmetology schools offer a wide array of courses from hair and makeup to esthiology to nails.
If you’re considering attending a cosmetology school in Dallas so you can work in a salon or start your own business, it’s a great place to live and work. They have the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) system that offers light rails and buses to connect outer parts of Dallas to downtown Dallas.
